Is this representing a date? If so, I can't see how you can tell if a month or day has two figures or one. Is it possible to put the number into 8 digits so you can transform it into standard international format of yyyy/mm/dd ?

i had to pull data from a database into access and when i try to change the date formula it changes the numbers completly. I cannot pull the data into crystal report so i have to use the access as a middle man. the data is in a form of an alias which crystal report doesnt like.

You're going to have to do what ssweeney recommended. When bringing the data from the database into Access, you have to force the format to be 8 characters. I think the problem is that you have the data type in Access as a number and this gets rid of the leading zero. If you format it as a string then it should keep the leading zeros.

not sure how to force it, which i understand since i had to do that with excel, when i am using odbc connecting to another database in another building.
