I'm creating a report in XI that needs a dynamic prompt for employee names.  The problem is that there are over 1700 active employees matching the search criteria and XI apparently has a limit of 1001 for any list of values.  How can I create a dynamic cascading prompt where the user can select either All Names, A-K, L-P, S-V, or W-Z?  I think I can do the last four (A-K, etc.) but how is it possible to include the All Names option and skip the other selections?  It's got me befuddled.

Hi Blake. I cover this on page 204 of my CR Encyclopedia book. You can change the maximum number of records read to be anything you want. On your computer, select the Windows menu options Start > Run. Enter RegEdit. Create the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\ DatabaseOptions\LOV.

If you are using XI R2, then change the 11.0 to 11.5. Add a string value called MaxRowsetRecords and give it a new value for the maximum number of records to read. This overrides the default value of 1000 stored in CR.

Thanks!  But will this work on a server?  The reports are created on the LAN and published out to an intranet server for use company-wide.
