Hi all,

Just a quick question about formmating.

I'm creating cross tab reports, but realize there is a border with 1 px width around the field text. When I apply a background to the field it cannot field the whole cell but part of it.

I know you can definitely do it, since I try to apply one of the tempaltes and it removes that border. However, I spent more than 3 hours but still cannot figure out how. Can somebody shed me some light?

Thanks in advance,

Joshua

Joshua,

In order to apply a background to the whole cell you need to go into the formatting options for the cross tab rather than the field. There is an option to apply a background to the cell, you can also base the on a formula as well.

Thanks for the help.

However, I want to apply the background to particular cells - such as the cross-tab header.  The background of the cross tab will fill the whole cross tab which is not what I desired.

The strange thing is that there is a padding between the cell and the text and I want to set the padding to 0. However, I have no idea where to find it. One of the cross-tab template actually does it, such as the "Silver Sage". I want exactly that, any ideas?

Thanks,
Joshua

Ah right, I see what you are saying now. If you right click on the cross tab and go into the 'cross tab expert', on the 'customise style' tab there is an option to show cell margins, make sure this is unticked.
