Hello All,

I need help with setting up a student roster, i wanted to use the cross-tab method but i was wondering if someone else have another idea about.
I want it to look like this below 

Names
7/5 7/6 7/7 7/8 7/11 7/12 7/13 7/14
  Tue Wed Thu Fri Mon Tue Wed Thu
 1.  a                        
 2.  b                        
 3.  c                        
 4.  d -  -  -  -

Cross tab would be the easiest way in crystal since you're looking for a table-like structure.

Yea, but  i want to show the the dates so what formula do  i use for that.

the student name and days of the week shows up but i don't know what when it comes to dates

your data for the source has to include all of those dates,
set the columns to use that date field
set the date group to be daily
in the crosstab right click on the date header and select Format Field
select the Date and Time tab
select the 3/1 option
select custom
for day of week section select short and position as trailing

The  database don't have a start date or end date, only has academic year, start term
may be i can use date formula but don't know what how to use it

if your database has no dates in it then what are you puttin in the crosstab as there is no data that can reference a day anyway?

I have a database name that shows day of  the week.
it shows mon, tues, wed, thurs and fri

When  i browse field data, the field type says string and length says 255 and it displays Mon, Tues, weds, Thurs and Fri
