I am new to Crystal. I have a 2003 .net C++ application that uses Crystal reports - never had to change the reports since assuming project.

I open the report (.rpt file) in the Visual Studio report designer and go to the fild I want to change. In the properties box, I am unable to change the properties of the field. grayed out section. When I click something different in the drop down, it stays the same as original setting.

Is there an overall report format menu that allows me to change form attributes. I saw something on-line about a format editor, and there is a read-only check box. But how do I get to that in Visual Studio .net??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

In .Net, you can make changes and add objects by right-clicking the report or the report objects and using the pop-up menu options. If that doesn't help you, then it would be good if you specifically state what you are trying to change.

I figured it out. Needed to tie the solution together through Source Safe, then was able to change properties and get to the format editor. Never used Crystal before, thought it was something with tha, but it was a VS .net issue.

Of course, as soon as I entered the note, it came clear.

Thank you.

Great. Thanks for the follow-up. I'll have to make a note of that one for future reference.
