Is it possible to suppress specific detail records without suppressing the entire section?

Right now I suppress if duplicated but it just hides the value so I get blank lines in the detail list.

you can suppress a field, and to get rid of the blank line you can check the box in Section Expert to suppress if blank.
 
It is how you get subreports to hide and still be executed.
