i want a report using two tables mainly SaleOrder, SaleOrderDetail. Report is printed Customer wise with customer Info at top and after each customer info all SaleOrdernos of that customer are printed in header and then their combine detail (ItemId, Quantity etc) is printed. I use sub report for Printing Sale Order no and link it with main report on Customer it works but i want to run it by giving saleorderno, so that if a customer has say ten or more sales orders then only my asked salesorder info is printed. i can give criteria as Saleorderno>1000 or SalesOrderNo=2374340 or SalesOrderNo=2374345]. Is there a way that i can pass Record selection formula of main report to subreport? Or can I use that criteria in subreport that I pass from code to Main Report? I cannot make changes in my VB Application. All that i can change is my Report. In which version of crystal report can it be done? Can i do it in CR 7 ?

change the record selection in your subreport to use new parameters, then link the new parameters to the main report values that they mimic.

You can link on fields in the main reports data or you can link to parameters for the main report...think of it as calling a subroutine.
