Do you have a formula to convert a string into a date?
Usually the bad format error is when a formula is trying to convert a string into a date field but it finds a particular row of data that cannot be converted into a valid date. If you have a formula that is doing this you can use an isdate() function to check if the result is a valid date or not.

The crystal Report works fine , i have tested it on 3 other computers. The problem is that when i try to run it on my laptop it comes up with Bad date format string.
So therefore it has to be a setting on my laptop or on the crystal report programme. (i think)

It is possible but I would not know where to look for that setting.
When you run it on your lap top are you using the exact same set set of data as on the other computers? If any row is different that can cause the error.
