Topic: Date Parameters Posted: 04 Oct 2007 at 11:33am
I am brand new to Crystal, so please excuse me if this question is too simplistic. I am just starting to create my own custom reports out of Track-It Help Desk, and I have run into a stone wall trying to create a simple Date range parameter. I simply want to be able to enter a range of dates which the report will return the data within (I.E. " Total Work Orders Opened" during a specified week or month. I seem to be able to create the parameter and insert it into the report, but it doesn't refresh with the data specified by my parameter. Obviously I am doing something wrong in creating my parameter. Would someone please just walk me through the steps from start to finish in creating a date range parameter and inserting it into a report?. As much detail as possible would be appreciated. Again, sorry if this is such a simple question, but this is all new to me.

Thanks so much for responding to my inquiry. I appreciate your help. I still have a few questions. Do I have to create parameters for EACH field that I want to report on, or will the Date RAnge parameter I create apply to any of the fields that I pull in from Track-It? Also, could you possibly write out the formula itself using the following information: Work Order Num. (TASKS.WO_NUM) Work Orders Opened (TASKS.OPENDATE) Work Orders Closed (TASKS.COMPLETED) Technician Assigned (TASKS.RESPONS)
I would like to be able to report on this data within a user selectable range of dates. I'm not sure if this requires a formula for each of these, or just one that will cover any field that I drop into the report. Sorry if this is so simplistic. I very much appreciate your help.
