Dear All,

This is my first time writting in this forum and also i am new with Crystal Reports 10. I have the following problem: I created a report that connects with an SQL 2000 and displays some data. The problem is that when new data is added in the database the report does not display it. Any idea how i can "say" to the report to update the data every time that is running?

I dont know if this the problem, but have you made sure that the 'Save Data With Report" is not checked. It is under the file menu. If it is checked the report  will not automatically update/refresh the data.

I did that but when is not checked the users cannot access the report because in order to run the report you have to enter username and password of sa in Crystal reports and from another application im getting an error. Is there a way to have permanently the username and password of sa in the report?

Your problem seems to be one of database permissions.  You should be able to set up your connection for a user other than sa. Each database is different so it is hard to give you direction.

Unfortunately, there is no way to save database permissions within the report. This creates a big security risk, and they do not have that functionality built into CR. You will have to create a User Id and Password that only has read access to the tables you want to report on. Then you can give that Id/Pw out to your users for them to open reports. Another option is to use Integrated Security so that their Windows Login Id has permission to read from the database without having to login.
