Is there a way to use the Group Sort Expert to dynamically sort on a summary based on a user entered parameter?

Or can you combine the Group Sort Expert "ALL" option with the formula in the Change Group section?

My report has several different sort options based on a user parameter.  One of the options is for a group summary.  I can get all the other options to work using the formula in the Change Group section but I can't do the summary field there.  If I do the summary field in the Group Sort Expert section it only does that no matter what parameter is entered.  It seems to ignore my Change Group formula at that point.

I've also tried doing a manual summary field but I can't get that to work right either.

I'm sure this has been done before & is not an abnormal report request.

Actually, I don't think this can be done. Someone might correct me, but I think it has to do with the two-pass reporting method. The report can't process all that data simultaneously because most of it is being done in pass 1 and you are trying to use the results of one batch of data with another batch of data even though the data hasn't been calculated yet. It's like when you create a formula that references another formula and you can't be certain which formula that CR calls first. I would go back and study the report processing model and map it to what you are using in your groups and see if that is where the conflict is.
