I have used a simple Add Command function in Crystal XI to create a 'table' which I have then used in conjunction with other existing tables within Crystal to create my report.

The report runs fine and does what I need but when it runs it is incredibly slow.

Any ideas how I could speed this up?

Thanks

I've had this problem too and I've never been able to fix it directly - I get round it by doing everything inside the SQL command... ie create the link to the additional tables inside the command so you dont need to join anything inside crystal.

Regards,
Ryan.

Yes, the issue with using a command and tables is that it loads all the rows into memory before doing the rest of the processing (at least that is what I have been told).  It can really bog things down.

Thanks both, much as I'd feared.

I've managed to speed things up with a sub-report but the original query was so straightforward it should just work better!
