We use Crystal Reports 2008 with MS SQL Server 2008. There are several instances, Development, Test, Production, all of which have an ODBC driver defined.
We use the Set Datasource Location feature to change the instance needed. What’s odd is the database will only change in the properties for the high-level name of the location. It does not change in the underlying tables. We have had to change each of them one at a time. Otherwise when running the new copies of the reports we get the wrong data.
This behavior seems rather odd. Shouldn’t the change at the upper level (hope I’m using the right terms) do the trick? Our connection is ODBC (RDO).
What do you think?
TIA.
