Is it possible to have a report auto-refresh when opened with the CRVIEWER XI application?
thanks in advance.

( I had posted a response earlier but it did not show, so here it goes again)
I am guessing you are talking about refreshing the data.
The CR Viewer only supports reports that have the data saved with the report. It does not support and active data connection, which would be needed to refresh that data.
I had high hopes for the viewer when it was released but when I discovered this limitation I was disappointed. I had hoped it would be an easy way to deploy reports to my customers. In the end I just built my own viewer in .Net (easy to do).

Thanks John,
I have no expertise in this area. Is it a long learning curve?

I sent you PM with some additonal information. Quick answer is that its not hard if you have some .Net programming experience. I will send you the viewer I made. It is a utitility application. If there is any interest in it by others it I may make it available as download from my website.

There's a list of 3rd-party viewers at: http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html

Thanks for sharing the link. It does appears most things have a cost or were written for older versions. If there is any interest in a CR XI utility viewer, I would make it available as freeware.

Hi John,
A free viewer is always nice and I'm sure Ken would be happy to add yours to the list.
The list does include viewers that support recent Crystal versions. My "DataLink Viewer" has a version with Crystal XI R2 runtime components. Some of the viewers also provide extra functionality. For example, I noticed you are involved with MasterBuilder; DataLink Viewer allows users to select different company folders for the same report.
Cheers, - Ido
