Topic: Report on benefits in Raiser's Edge Posted: 11 Jun 2014 at 1:32am
Hi,
I really hope someone can help me with this question.
On Raiser's Edge we are recording benefit information in two separate ways.
The first is from the membership tab, Individuals who receive benefits for prospecting purposes or Individuals who have joined up for a yearly membership to a specific programme.
Secondly we have decided to record benefits within the Attribute section of an Individual Relationship from an Organisational record. The reason we have decided to record benefits here is because we wanted to record individuals who were receiving benefits on behalf of an organisation.
My question to you is;
In Crystal Reports how can I report on both sets of benefits in one report. Ideally I would like to be able to select on specific benefits and the report will be able to show me which benefits are from the membership tab and those from the individual relationship tab. Is this possible?
If I was to report on the benefits of 'Annual Report & Christmas Card'
I would like the report to be detailed as the example below.
Constituent Name Membership Benefit
Sam Smith Annual Report
Jack Brown Christmas Card
Kerry Jones Annual Report
Individual Relationship Individual Relationship Benefit Constituent Name
Claire Harris Annual Report American Airlines
Aimee Miller Annual Report Morgan Stanley
Aimee Miller Christmas Card Morgan Stanley

Hi Abbott,
Does the organizational vs. individual information live in separate tables or the same table? How do you tell which is which in the database?
I have some ideas, but would need to understand your data structure to put them down without going off in left field.
Essentially you should be able to use formulas to choose which data elements are displayed, assuming like information in each column. I wouldn't try to move the data around based on which data is being displayed. It could probably be done but is beyond my experience.

Abbott, you might have better luck contacting support from Raisers Edge to determine which tables and fields contain the data. Once you know that, bring that info back here if you need further assistance building the report.
