Quote brain Replybullet Topic: Extracting RTF from OLE Object
    Posted: 10 Dec 2015 at 3:15pm
I am using CR XI to report on data in a DB2 DB. We have some BLOB fields that, rather than storing actual objects, such as pictures, store raw RichText. A query within the database products a (very long) string of text that, when copied and pasted into Notepad, then saved as a .rtf file, can be opened with WordPad to see the correctly-formatted result.

But when I add the field in a Crystal Report, it appears as an OLE Object and never shows anything. This is unlike other BLOB fields in the same DB, such as a company logo bitmap field, where CR recognizes the OLE Object in the field as the bitmap and correctly displays the picture on the report.

So, how would I force Crystal to correctly extract and display RichText from an OLE object?
