I would like to summarize my Crystal Report by groups, on a formula field.

My report is grouped by "Estimated Family Contribution" and "Residency"(subgroup).

The formula field calculates the amount of aid awarded (it is calculated based on award term and award type).

I inserted a summary on the groups and first selected "sum." This returned the correct summed amount of aid awarded. However, when I edit the summary to return "median" Crystal doesn't seem to understand and returns incorrect numbers. What it seems to be doing, is only returning the median based on the grouping while ignoring the calculations I defined in my formula field.

Any suggestions?

Normally Crystal Reports do a aggregation based on where you are in the report.  You can do running totals to override that a little bit.  Otherwise you have to create your own aggravation in formulas.  I haven't had to do a median since college, so that aggregation is a bit fuzzy for me.
