	Hello, For some reason, Crystal Reports 2016 is viewing a date field in my database table as a string field. I need to group by month so I need to make a formula to convert the string field that is in yyyy-mm-dd format to date.

	You should be able to create a formula field as DATE(table.field) to convert it.
