I am new to CR. I have made a parameter field of type "date". CR want to present this as a YYY-MM-DD.  My folks would like to have it presented as MM-DD-YY on input. I found a formula using Min and Max so the date shows up on the report correct. However the parameter does not. Does anyone know how I can get my parameter to input as MM/DD/YY?

This has been discussed elsehwhere on this forum. You should probably search it for more info. Anyway, CR is supposed to use the local system data format, but it's buggy. They said they would release a service pack to fix it but I haven't checked if this is out or not. You should go to their site and see.

In my book I discuss making the parameter a string and using an edit mask of "00/00/00". Then use the CDate() function in your record selection formula.

Brian, I have not seen your book. However I have a question. Do you use coding examples in your book? For things like the "date format in a parameter field"  that I am asking about. I am certainly not against purchasing a good reference book. Thanks

Yes, for the majority of topics I discuss I like to show examples so that you can see how something works in practice. I show how to use the CDate() function on page 248 and I discuss your question on page 195 for my "Best of the Forum" questions.
