Quote Pobble Replybullet Topic: How can I make CR2011 recognise CSV field as text

Hi

I have a CSV file of barcodes that I scan with my phone and then send the file to my pc.

I then need to link this file to the master barcode file in our epos system.

The issue is that when I set up the CSV link, CR2011 decides the barcode field is a numerical one, in my CSV file, and our epos barcode field is text, so I cannot link the two fields.

Is there a way to force CR2011 to recognise the CSV field as text and not a number?

Thanks

You may have a reference here about generating barcode as text in Crystal Report. You need to convert your barcode in CSV file as text.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem is not generating barcode, it is that I have a text file in CSV format that I need to link CR2011 to.

When I do CR2011 automatically makes the barcode field a number and I need it to be text.

Is there a way to tell CR2011 to interpret this field as text and not a number?

Thanks
