Crystal Reports Parameters Don't work. What am I doing wrong?

   HI,
I have a very simple report that I developed in CR XI. 

I'm trying to pass the Project Number as a parameter so I add a new parameter, give it name and type (number) and set it to static and choose the field I'm filtering on from the Value Field. 

I then dragged the parameter to the report, added @ to the begining, and run the report in Crystal. when prompted with the value I enter a project number but nothing happens....

there must someting very simple that I'm missing. I have tried many other parameters and none of them worked.

any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
