in the detail section I have 2 subreports and some other non-subreport fields...I can't get them to print on the same line...the 1 subreport does print on the same line as the non-subreport fields, but the other subreport doesn't...any ideas?

I never noticed that before. What I would do is create a second Detail section and put the second subreport in the new detail section. Then on the first Detail section, go into the formatting and select the Overlay option. This make the first section print on top of the second section, and they will look like they are on the same line!
