Posted: 12 Jan 2011 at 2:26pm
I have a html field (Html Text) in my report.
I find out if the value is "<a lot of>" or "<a lot of>", the field displays "a lot of>".

It looks like the left angle bracket is not allowed in a html text field unless is a correct html tag like .

Can anyone share me some information to resolve this issue? thanks.

Hi Rahul,

This field on my report need to support html format like ,,
.....
The data is from a html editor, so i set this field as HTML Text.

And sometimes, users need to insert angle brackets as text content.
For example, user input the following:

Here is a <long> test string

So in database i have below value:
here is a <long> test string

But when i passed this value to the report, the report display:
Here is a long> test string

The Left angle bracket is lost.

cheers,
Alee

I recall seeing this question somewhere on these forums, but can't remember where exactly.

Someone hypothesized that perhaps Crystal does something with that < and therefore messes things up.

Maybe you can tell me how to create HTML text fields so I can see what's up (I am using XI, so not sure if there are HTML fields)

Hi Keikoku,

What i did is drawing a data field from Database Fields to report, and then right click-->Format Fields..-->Paragraph-->Text Interpreptation, choose "HTML Text"

cheers,
Alee
