Hey, all!

I have a big list of names and dates and I'm having a problem on reagrouping the way I wish to.

What I aim to do is, instead of showing the same dates for different names, showing just the names and just showing the date once.

Instead of

2011-01-01      Lily
2011-01-01      Marco
2011-02-03      James

I want something like this

2011-01-01     Lily
                        Marco
2011-02-03     James

______________________

But the list I have is enormous and if I make a group it will open a group header section and the date won't be next to the names - it will be above.
If I get the group field on the detail section (where the names are listed), it will show the same date multiple times.

Did I explain myself well?
Thanks

you can suppress group headers too but the simplest solution is to:
right click on the date field
select format field
common tab
mark 'Suppress If Duplicated' as TRUE

It made an improvement but it's not really what I wanted.
Here's a pic:

Now I have something like image 1, but I want something like on image 2.
That's because I also want to format the date into 'day of week, 'day', 'month', 'year'.
Is it possible?

Thanks in advance

crystal does not really work like that. Crystal is row based and you can't "merge cells" like in excel.
Maybe a crosstab would get you closer but am not sure. You could play around with that function to see if you get something you like
