I'm trying to link fields from two different data sources.  Once field is a string and the other is a number field.  I'm getting an error message stating "Data Types are not compatible".  Is there another way to link these two fields?

Use a formula to convert the number to a string (or vice-versa) and then use that formula as the linking field. Remember to format it properly so that the values match exactly (trailing decimal places will cause problems if you don't account for them).
