I would like to I know how to take a field. To display text on the report?
For example if a user selects "student" from a database and and I'm creating a letter inside crystal, I would like "student" to display and generate text.

I would create a parameter in the report so that the user can select "student". Then just place the parameter on the report or within the text block of the letter to display the value.
