Topic: Conditional column breaks Posted: 23 Oct 2012 at 5:16pm
Hi - can anyone help me with conditional column breaks? Currently I have 5 groups on one page, each group in it's one column. I need to add another group to the page so I need to have two groups in one columns - but the rest of the report needs to maintain the one group per column format.

Thanks. Is there a way of putting two groups in a column without creating another group? That would require another database field and I can't modify the database.

Tell me a little more about your data. What constitues a "group"? How is that returned in the query from the report? What type of section are you placing the data in?

Dell,
One of the difficulties I have had with building my report was that I didn't have access to the database itself. I don't know exactly how it is built and what all the fields are. However, the basic idea is simple. We have four large categories and five subgroups within each category. Each page represents the large category and has five columns - one for each subcategory. Recently, an additional subcategory was added - so, now, on page has six subcategories. Both the categories and subcategories are identified by unique names and unique numbers. Is there a way to stop the column from breaking if and only if the following group has a particular name (or number)?
