    Posted: 12 Jul 2013 at 4:45am
I am using 2008 and am having problems with suppressing a section if the field's value, in that section, is 0.

In the section's suppression,  I added this formula:
    {Table1.Monies} = 0

When I run the report, the field, Monies, is definitely 0, yet the section keeps showing up.  There are no other tests for the section.  The suppress option is not selected in the section, only the formula was added to the suppression.

Anyone else having this problem?  It has happened to me twice so far.  Any ideas?

did you try and create a formula using {Table1.Monies} = 0
and place that on the section you want to supress to verify that the formula returns a True?

Thank you for your help, DBlank!  I regret to inform you this did not work.

Is there a weird thing with 2008?  I have done many suppressions and never had a problem until now.

I do not know if this is related, but we had a similar issue with an WebI report using MS-SQL as a data source.  Even though the data type was a decimal(10,2) , it would suppress with the measure  = 0.  But would if we checked > -.01 and less < .01.  Still do not understand why.

By George, I think we've got it!  This worked beautifully!  Thank you for your help, kevlray!

Maybe the value of the field actually comes out to a trillionth of what we see, which makes it a non-zero value.
