    Posted: 19 Aug 2013 at 8:57am
sort of a beginner here with using xml data source, but here I go:

I have one xml datasource with one table I am using.. however, I want to bring the table in twice and link them for logic purposes...

The issue is that when I attempt to link the tables, nothing happens.. no error messages or anything, just no link occurs. I will click on one field and drag it to it's corresponding field in the duplicated table.. after I let go, no link appears and that is it... any ideas why this can't be done?

Hi

If you are trying to link two fields of different data types then it will not show the link

If you are trying to pull same table once again and try to join, please check both table names are same

Thanks,

data types are exactly the same.  All I am doing is adding a table in database expert by moving it over twice from data source to Selected tables.

For example:

XML Datasource has table: Row/Rows.. when I move it to selected tables, it shows up as Row/Rows, and then I add it again.  So now selected tables show:

Row/Rows
Row/Rows_1

And then when I try to link them, nothing happens. No error message or anything.

Thanks for your help.

is this the only solution?  I find my report to be really slow without doing the table to table link... or should that not make a difference?
