For most of my customers I usually design the reports as part of a .Net application. I recently had a customer who simply wanted a report and not invest in a .Net frontend.
It forced me to work with the Prompts features in CR which is something I rarely do. I usually pass prompts through the front end. I needed create a selection formula based on three different selection criteria and combinations thereof. Using Brian's book and looking at how he worked a default value of ...All into the prompting scheme, I was able to quickly create the final solution. Brian's book saved me time and my customer money.
In the end I was to provide the report the customer wanted along with my free report viewer and they liked the results.
Thanks Brian, once again the book is a great value. Its worth buying...
