Hello,
I am a novice Crystal Report user and I have the following issue:
One person may have multiple charges and each charge i have coded as either violent or non-violent. What i need to do now is write a formula that says if there is a violent charge in someone's history then select this and not the non-violent charge. Happy to provide more information. Desperately seeking help.

try this:
group on the person
create a "flag" formula to sum "violence records"
if field='violent' then 1 else 0
sum this at the person group
use a group select to only select groups where the sum=0
sum(@flag,person)=0
