Do parameters within Crystal Reports 10 have to always be manually set?  Or could something like a DB table or flat file be used to populate possible parameter values as the report is executed?  Please direct me to a previous post if this has been asked before.

Thanks

Yes and no. There is a way to trick CR to automatically populate a parameter, but it isn't very clean. You can put the report inside of a main report and create a formula or database field which is then linked to the parameter in the subreport. This way you can set which value gets passed to the subreport (which actually the main report originally).

I cover many tips and tricks for parameters in Chapter 4 of my Encyclopedia book. You can find out more about my books at Amazon.com or reading the Crystal Reports eBooks online.
