When I work remotely from my office, the screen refresh can get slow sometime. Some people like me tend to click on items repeatedly to get things going. CR VS 2005 would hang when I do that. I did lose some my work before.

I had the same problem with CR VS 2003 and earlier versions. I was surprised it is still around. There is no convincing answer last I checked Internet.

Appreciate any helps.

Davis

I would think that there isn't a "fix" for this. When you are clicking on the report repeatedly you are pinging the database with multiple requests (that are all the same). Thus, the server is overloading and probably hanging memory. It's good to use an indicator to let the user know that the report is being processed.

My bad that I did not make it clear. It is the VS hangs when I design a CR form. It happens VS 2003 and earlier version too.

Thanks,
DF

Hi DF,

VS can go catatonic on you if you keep bashing at it when it's waiting on something else :(  The Crystal Reports subsystem isn't the only thing.

Unfortunately I doubt many people have the clout to push Uncle Bill into explicitly fixing this unless the fix also fixed other stuff and makes him vast amounts of cash :)

So, I suppose the answer is "don't do it".

(Patient: Doctor; whenever I do this it hurts !
 Doctor: well, that's easy - don't do this ! )
