    Posted: 04 Aug 2008 at 4:42am
I have a report that has four subreports. The main report has parameters for year, Item Group 1, IG2, IG3, IG4.  The year and IG1 are parameters on subreport 1. Year and IG2 on subreport 2. etc.

When the report is run from CR Server the parameters for the main report are automatically passed from CR Server but the report then prompts for each of the subreports in turn.

How can I get the parameters to be automatically passed to the subreports?

I'm not a CR Server expert, but when you get double prompting with subreports it is usually because of how you link the main report to the subreport. When linking the two together, don't use CR's default linking field that it creates for you, instead click the drop-down box and select the field you want to directly link to. By skipping over CR's 'intermediate field' you get rid of the double prompting.

Thanks Brian,

I logged this issue late at night and just realised this morning that I have asked the wrong question.  I will log a  new isssue.
By the way, I did have an issue with sub report prompting some time back and found the solution in your book.
This issue can be closed.
