Hello,

I have some files .rpt which are linked to a datasource JDBC connection URL, something like jdbc:mysql://ip:3307/dbname

-- The problem: --
When i redeploy my application on a different database, i have to enter in all the .rpt, and i have to modify them all to use this new database

-- A solution? --
How to NOT hardcode this in my reports? How to externalize this?

Thanks

How are you running your reports?  Are they being run from an application that you've written?  If so, you can set the database on the report before you display it.

I haven't worked with the Java SDK, but it you go to the Developer Library here http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/devsuite.htm and click on "Viewers SDK" then on "Java developer guide" you should be able to find what you're looking for.
