Hi, we have a product using 8 progress version 9.1d databases, based an on AIX operating system and a set of around 300 reports/ queries to read data from various (many) tables in these databases, in some case for reporting but most cases then passing this data into SQL databases with enquiries to obtain the information which we cannot get from the Progress based standard application programs.

The user name and password to access the databases is going to change.

It could be also that the tables possible to read from will be limited.

I am not yet familar with what effect these changes would have in Crystal.

Will it be possible, when this happens, to assign the new user name/ password required to connect to the databases, and then expect all of the reports and queries to just run, or will we need to make any change to each of those report/ queries.

Also, is there a quick route to obtaining a full list of the tables used in existing reports/queries, or do you have to go long hand through each one to find that please?

Many thanks

as far as the connection is concerned...it depends on how report connects to the database.  If it is via ODBC, I think that just updating the connection with the new password and user will adjust it for all reports.

As to finding which tables are in which reports, the only thing that I know is to open each one up and take a look.  There is a product that someone inquired about, I think it is called .rpt Inspector which might do this for you. I don't have any experience with it, and I only glanced at the website.
