How can I summarize group totals to produce grand totals in the report footer?

Depends on how you got the group totals.
If they were just straight counts or sums then you just add new counts or Sums without the grouping.
If they are more complex you can usually get what you want via a shared variable formula or a Running Total.

Hi and thanks for you quick reply.  I got the group total by creating running totals.  Can I create a running total directly from a running total?  Can you show an example using the shared variable formula?

Thanks.

You cannot summarize a summary.
However, if you used RTs to get the group level then just create the exact same RT but in the Reset option change it from resetting at the group level to reset at never.
There are tons of examples of variables on this site.
Lockwelle uses them where I use RTs.
Here is a link to one from today

I created the grand totals as you suggested but my totals are too large for what the group totals summed together should be.

For the subtotals I have running totals that are reset at the same group level (group level 1), these work fine and I recieve the correct amounts per group.

The running totals that I have for the grand totals appear to be out of scope and is selecting all records because it cannot tally the reset amounts obtained in the subtotals.

Row level data:

ID               Job#     Activated    Revoked

121345       34             True          True
121345       19            False         True

The Activated and Revoked columns are summed if they are true.
The group level is based on the ID.

Activated:  1
Revoked:    1

Total Activated:  98
Total Revoked:   209

Field to summarize= ID
Type of Summary=DistinctCount
Evaluate= Use a Formula...table.activated=True
Reset=Never

Name=TotalRevoked
Field to summarize= ID
Type of Summary=DistinctCount
Evaluate= Use a Formula...table.revoked=True
Reset=Never

I obviously am not understanding your data.
Can you give a little larger sample base and how you want it counted?
