Are you having this problem on the computer where Crystal is installed or on a computer where an application is running your report?  What type of a connection are you trying to set up?  ODBC? SQL Server Native?  Is the SQL Server client software installed on the computer where you're working?  If you're using ODBC, is the ODBC connection set up correctly?

when m going to connect my database with ODBC, it asks me username and password of sql server 2005... but i dont wat is username and password....
As in sqlserver 2003, ther is username and password like 'sa' and ' ' respectively... but i dont the uname and password for this version sqlserver 2005.... if i m connecting my database with OLE DB, again dis problem arises.... so tell me wat wil be the best method to connect my database with crystal report 8.5.... my sqlserver is properly installed on my PC...

You'll have to find out the user name and password for this version of SQL Server - you cannot connect without it.  And it may be that someone changed the password for the sa user ID after it was installed - which is what should be done for security reasons.  If you're using odbc, you can set up the connection to include the user ID and password and at that point Crystal shouldn't ask you for it.
