    Posted: 11 Jul 2007 at 5:37am
Hi

    I've created a database as HM1.0,  HM2.0, HM3.0, HM4.0 and etc.
But if i connect the db thru cr its giving an error as adodb connection, when i used "Microsft OLEDB SQL Server Driver". If i used "SQL Native Driver" then, its connection and displaying table. but if i used tables in the report (eg: Emp, Dept), its giving an error "Emp" not found "Dept" not found. whats the problem and how to solve this or we cannot use db name like that. if u give details its great... i need exact details and exact solutions (whatever possible no.)

Thanks in advance

I haven't contributed an answer because I have no idea what could be wrong. If the tables exist via OLE DB then they should exist through ODBC. The only odd thing I can think of is to reinstall the ODBC driver to make sure it's not corrupt. But that's about it for me.

Hi Brian
Thanks for ur reply. I think u mistaken my question. Let me explain once again

1. Create a rpt file using OLEDB thru CR XI and the database for eg: dbone (dbname)
2. Lateron i've added or copied that db into some other db for eg: db.1 (dbname) and existing dbone deleted from sql server.
3. Now i've to update rpt file with the new db. ie., db.1 right ?
4. So opened rpt file and set datasoruce location with db.1 thru oledb connection its throwing some errors.
5. Thats what the problem. If we create with db_1, instead of db.1 its working.
6. So how solve / whats the problem / whats the best thing / suggestion to work with that. or cannot use db.1. kindly give me right solution or information. I'm not using ODBC connection.

Experts can give their valuable suggestion / informations regarding this.
Not only brian. All others suggestions are welcome

Thanks in advance

Are you calling it "db.1"? If so, I would get rid of the "." In SQL Server, that is the separator between the database owner and the table name. Bad news to put it in the table name. I can see where something would blow up somewhere along the line.
