I am using Crystal XI and using Central Management Console to schedule report. The report prints once a day and send the output to the user via e-mail. Depending on the day, the report does not produce output every day. If there is no output, the report printed will be just blank.

In this situation, how can I schedule the instance so that when the report is blank, there will be no e-mail send to the user ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

You can try using Events in CMC ,checking for no records I have not done myself, but you can give a try creating file based event.....

not sure though if this is what could be a workaround.

Also you can still send email to the user attaching  the report with message displayed  in the report saying
No Record generated for the day

Create a fromula to check
frm_blankrecords
if isnull(count({table.filedname})) then
'No Records for ' + '   ' &  Currentdate

Place the formula in details section .

Cheers
