If a report has date parameters for the user to use in their selection but instead they choose to enter only a check # parameter without knowing the dates, how do you attempt to leave the date parameter blank?

I suggest the following solution.

- set your default value for parameter to history (a date that you know, will never be used in this report, in my example it is set to 1.1.2007). This will be the date used, when the user does not know the date.

- add if statement to Select Expert:
If {?PDate}=date(2007,1,1) Then {Invoice.InvoiceDate} like > date(2007,1,1) else {Invoice.InvoiceDate} = {?PDate}
