    Posted: 17 Jun 2009 at 4:06pm
I am using crystal v9.
I need to chart the moving point average for a period of 15 points.
The data is pretty straight forward - ie

Sample No               Result           Moving Point Average
1                                   20                       20
2                                   28                       24 (Average of S1+S2)
3                                   10                       19 (Average of S1+S2+S3)
4                                   18                       19 (Average of S1+S2+S3+S4)
.                                     .
.                                     .
.                                     .
.                                     .
.                                     .
15                                 50                         16 (Average of S1...S15)
16                                 62                         18 (Average of S2....S16)
17                                 33                         21 (Average of S3...S17)

Can anyone help with the code to do this and how to chart both the result and moving point average on one chart.
ThanksTongue

I do not have crystal in front of me to test it but I think you can do a running total on the result field set as an average and place it on the detail row...

Yes if you want a continuous running total , but if it is only an average of the last 15 results - how do you do that?
Thanks

Sorry for the delayed response and not reading the post clearly enough. I was thinking you would reset it after 15 records but it is not every 15 records but the last 15 records which is obviously a much more confusing process. I just keep getting stuck on how to reset it...maybe an array would work...?

Anyone else have thoughts on how to do this one?
