Crystal Reports XI

In using Micosoft Access and Excel (both 2007) for the data source in the Crystal Report, I can update a field in Access and have it reflect the change in the Crystal report as long as I click up or down on the next record number in Access.

However, in Excel when I update a field, I can't seem to have it reflect in the Crystal Report unless I close both applications and reopen them.

Is there a better way? I have tried to refresh the Crystal Report after the field record update in Excel, as well as trying to click on the next record in Excel but the Crystal Report doesn't reflect the change.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I resolved this issue. I was unaware that the Excel document was opened as a 'Read Only' document. The CR now reflects the changes when I add data to the Excel spreadsheet and save the document.
