Hi,

I got a problem while displaying age range, its if age band is and max age is 20, then i'll be expecting output somewhat similar to,
AGE TABLE 0-5 6-10 11-15 16-20
EMPLOYEE                    -                  -                  -                  -
SPOUSE                    -                  -                  -                  -
DEPENDANT                 109              155              120                96

but when i am trying to display this in reports the order get distorted as shown below,

AGE TABLE 0-5 11-15 16-20 6-10
EMPLOYEE    -       -       -      -
SPOUSE    -       -       -      -
DEPENDANT  109   120     96  155

please help!!........

Thanks,
Sunil

that is because is is sorting by text and not by numerical values. Thus, it looks at the first character of your string. If you zero fill the numbers then it will sort correctly. Change 6-10 to 06-10 to get it sorted like you want.

Is there any provision or method to display text '6 - 10' as '06 - 10'...?
Thanks,
Sunil

Yes. There is a property of the Format Text dialog box called Show Text (or something like that) and you can change what gets displayed prior to it being printed. Right-click on the column header object to get there. Check out the last part of my online crosstab chapter for more infomation. I think I wrote about it there.
