just found the answer  on crystal report help... sybase,DB2,Informix does native driver does not support Add Command, so I need to use ORDBC(RDO) only for connectivity.

Note:    Some of the Crystal Reports native database drivers do not support the Add Command feature:

  • DB2 Server
  • Sybase Server
  • Informix Online Server

I realise the original post goes back a few years, but I am having the same problem, and eventually came to the same conclusion myself - You can't get an Add Command feature with a Sybase Server.
I also came to the conclusion that I need to set up an ODBC connection to my DB. But I am having endless problems trying to create this. Mostly because I haven't got a clue!!
Anyone had experience with this successfully?
I have my server name, DB name, login and password, But other than that, I am unsure of what the other settings should be when trying to create the connection.Confused
