Hi,

I have a report where in select expert I am using date criteria to run the report. I want to use a parameter so it can given a date range prompt to the user. I created a date parameter but whenever I remove the select criteria from select expert, insted of the dates given from the user, it runs out of the complete database.

Please help.

Thanks,
Aarav

Are you using the date parameter in the select criteria, so that it prompts the user for the date range?   If not, then the report will use all the data.

Hi,

Initially I had the dates ex. 06/22/2010 to 07/21/2010 but I want User to select the date on the prompt and based on the user's input of dates, the report should run. If the select criteria has the above date and user enter some other dates then the reprot is still running based on the select criteria. I want user to select the dates and based on the dates, report should run. Can this be possible? Please advise.

Thanks,
Aarav

So let me understand what you are saying.  You have a default date range for the parameter, but when a user selects a different date range, you are still getting the results from the default date range?  If so, do you have the report save the data?

Please let me know if I am interperting correctly.
