    Posted: 07 Oct 2010 at 12:10am

We have a report which has 4 subreports. All these subreports are grouped in main report.
1st subreport has 1000 records
2nd subreport has 6000 records
3rd , 4th subreports have no records

when we run the report program, its giving error as "Report Server Application Failed".

if we have input file such as 1st report has 1000, 2nd report has 2000 records, Error is thrown. After deleting 4th subreport, it worked fine.
Next increased number of records for 2nd report, Error is thrown. after deleting 3rd  and 4th reports, it worked fine.
next we kept only 2nd report and report was run with complete 6000 records, it ran successfully.

Here i have some questions on this behaviour.

1. Is it possible to catch the error "report Server Application Failed" exactly where its occuring by doing debug?
2. If we have only one subreport, report is running successfully. Is there any problem with having many subreports?
3. Is there any problem with volume of records?
4. Is this error thrown because of improper design?

Please note that we have used Crystal Report Basic for Visual Studio 2008 for our design and development. And we are using XSD as datasource for reports.

can anyone help me on this.? Thanks in Advance.

Thanks,
Praveena.
