    Posted: 10 May 2011 at 10:22am
Hey All,

I'm currently trying to figure out if there's a way to allow drill-down on a 3D-Riser Crystal Report's graph, from the report header section?

I know regular bar-graphs do it without any type of configuration, but when I go and double-click on one of the columns in the graph, I get no drilldown.

Let me know if any of you has solved this issue.. Thanks.

Crystal Reports Version: CR XI R2
OS: Windows 7 64bit

you have to have 2 groups set up (for your on change of) in the report architecture and then the chart has to use 'Group' as the Data tab type.

-------Thanks for the quick reply DBlank-------

This is what I'm currently doing using Chart Expert:

1) Use Chart-Type: 3D Raiser --> 3D bar chart
2) Select the "Data" Tab
3) Select "Layout" --> Advance

*On the "On Change of" field, I add 2-columns from my view.
*On the "Show Value(s)" I have 1 field that uses the SUM function.

The steps above don't result in the graph allowing users to drill-down into further details.

I'm not too sure what you mean by: "and then the chart has to use 'Group' as the Data tab type." -- are you refering to "Layout"

Yes I am referring to 'Layout'.

I could be wrong but I believe the only time drill down is available in a chart is when you use the 'Group' option for the data source 'layout'. The rest of the report has to be designed to support drilling into the group.
'Advanced' is not a viable olution to drill into the data because there is nothing to drill into.

If you switch from advanced to Group you can select the On change of as your 2 groups int he report and trhe SHow as a sumamry caclualtion you created using the insert summary function.
