I want to change the Group#1 Names that displays on preview.
I have tried a select case formula  that didn't work?
Also Insert group -Customize Group Name Field-Use a formular as a Group Name. Boolean formula to change Names???

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you have to use the customize group name option. Is this not working, or are you confused as to how to use it?

I see. I cover how to customize the group name with a formula starting on page 107 of my new book.

You're not going to use a boolean formula to determine when to change the group name. Instead, on the Change Group Options dialog box, select the option Use Formula as Group Name and enter that formula in there.

The formula you create will look at a field in the current row (most likely the group id) and then return then new data that is the group name you want to display. You can use a Select Case statement, a calculation of some sort, or whatever. So this formula is always used to display the new group name and the group id field will never be displayed.

The customize group name option is not working.I used a select case statement formula. It doesn't see the group( is one of dave44 or john242,etc.)displayed in preview.Only an "a" that is in the default clause string is displayed for each???Not the name I want them changed to.Formula icon shows Conditional formatting has been applied.

Thanks again!
