When I run my report from my webserver through an ASP.net application, after supplying my parameters in the parameter screen, I get the following message:

Failed to open the connection. Failed to open the connection.
PortalClients {03D4968A-9E3D-4CCC-A81F-9FF92BB8AC9F}.rpt

The PortlaClients.rpt is the actual report name. It runs 100% from my local machine. I did setup the same ODBC connection as on my local machine but still no luck.

1.  Are you using a Server DSN?  If not, that is the problem.

2.  Is the database on the webserver or is it on the network?  What type of database is it?  You're web server needs to have access to the database.  This is different depending on the type of DB.

Thanks, much appreciated.

There were only a User DSN. I've created a System DSN and that sorted my issues!!

It is a SQL database on the same server.
